The latest of the late

I had a bad month or two there, with very little consistent working out. That time is over, thankfully. I'm done with school for the summer, and I don't work anymore, so I have a lot of time to do what needs to be done.
Last week, I hiked in the hills a couple times, which was excellent. I probably did about 5 miles the first day, with a friend, and the second day I did...I think 6 miles and climbed 400 feet. I was very happy. I wasn't trying to go fast or anything, but I did run a little the second day.
I've also gone to yoga a c0uple times at the gym, which was partly okay, partly sucky. The first instructor was all about torture, but it felt good to do it. The second time was more relaxing, but I was also highly unhappy watching myself in the mirrors. Kind of made the whole thing not worth it.
Today I wanted to get out in the sun and run, but there's tons of smoke from the fires in Napa, etc, so there really isn't sun and I probably shouldn't run in the smoke. So, I'll hit the gym.
I often get all crabby and hermit-ty when I'm at home, and I have to remind myself that once I actually get outside, I love it.
I'm registered for the San Jose Rock 'n' Roll Half Marathon in October. I thought about doing the Oyster adventure race, but you really need to be in good shape. Maybe next year.
