July update

With the registration for the Rock 'n' Roll Marathon comes a free training program, so I've been trying to follow it.
Mostly, it's kind of lame for where I am, but I did choose the walk/run option. Mostly walking, with spurts of running, which is what I've been doing anyway. The training e-mails urge me to walk a whopping 30 minutes and things like that. I'm sure it's great for someone just starting out, and that I really should be doing run/walk. But I'm being realistic.
So today I only ran for 1 minute at a time and then walked for 3 minutes before running again. I could have run longer than that, but it ended up being really good. I'm going to keep it up and work on consistency, which I think will be very good. I have a feeling that I can keep up the alternations as long as I need to, and end up taking a good amount of time off my race.
